NOVAH officially released 2024 Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Report (available for download at the end of this article), systematically presenting the company’s key advancements on its sustainable development journey. From the deployment of green energy to the design of product lifecycles, from supply chain collaboration to participation in global initiatives, NOVAH is integrating ESG principles into the core of its corporate strategy through systematic thinking.
In today’s world, where climate change and resource constraints are becoming increasingly severe, sustainability is no longer an optional add-on—it is the foundation of long-term corporate competitiveness. NOVAH’s approach is clear: to reshape from the source, drive change through design, and deliver on its commitments through action.
NOVAH has taken a significant step forward in green energy adoption—the construction of an 1.8 MW distributed photovoltaic (PV) power generation project at its manufacturing facility has officially commenced. This landmark initiative marks a pivotal transition into the substantive phase of the company’s shift toward clean energy.
The PV system is expected to generate approximately 1.9 million kWh of electricity annually, directly powering production operations. This will reduce carbon emissions equivalent to 600 tons of standard coal each year. Beyond substantially decreasing reliance on traditional energy sources, the project lays a solid foundation for achieving near-zero emissions in manufacturing.
The integration of green electricity represents a critical stride for NOVAH in extending its sustainability commitment from product development to the entire production lifecycle.
Integrating Environmental Responsibility into Every Aspect of Product Design and Lifecycle Management.
• Spatial Modularity: Facilitates the rapid reconfiguration of office spaces in response to team expansions or restructuring, minimizing resource wastage and enhancing management efficiency.
• Product Modularity: Enables quick relocation and reassembly of collaborative furniture, preventing repetitive purchasing for short-term needs and reducing waste.
· Component Modularity: Supports efficient production, assembly, and management while extending product life by replacing only worn-out modules rather than entire units.
• Utilizes smarter design and streamlined components to boost durability and long-term value, significantly lowering carbon emissions associated with each product.
• Extensive incorporation of recycled materials in showroom construction and product designs, such as transforming textile waste like denim into cabinet doors, embedding environmental commitment into every detail.
• Continual innovation in smart office furniture, integrating energy-saving materials and technologies (like low-power electronic components and automatic sleep modes) to reduce operational energy consumption while optimizing space utilization through intelligent systems.
lightweight structural design, NOVAH continues to lead in product energy efficiency, material optimization, and recyclability. The company’s entire seating collection and flagship lounge products have achieved GreenGuard Gold certification, meeting stringent international standards for low chemical emissions and delivering a healthier, safer indoor air environment for office spaces.
More significantly, modular design greatly enhances product repairability, upgradability, and disassembly, effectively extending product lifespans and minimizing resource waste. This circular economy-driven design philosophy not only reduces environmental impact but also delivers lasting value to customers through durability and adaptability.
Achieving sustainability is a collective endeavor that requires collaboration across the entire value chain. With this vision, NOVAH has made a strategic commitment that extends beyond its own operations: the company has officially joined the United Nations Global Compact. The UN’s Ten Principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption are now deeply integrated into NOVAH’s corporate governance and strategic framework. Guided by this commitment, NOVAH actively aligns its efforts with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
In practice, NOVAH continues to advance green supply chain management, partnering with forward-thinking suppliers such as LINAK to deepen collaboration in material innovation, energy efficiency improvements, and carbon data transparency. We believe that only by driving the co-evolution of the entire value chain can we systematically build a greener, more inclusive industrial ecosystem for the future.
