ESPRESSIF:Building a High-Performance Office Ecosystem

Semiconductor Industry Multidisciplinary Collaboration

Project Profile

In the era of Internet of Everything, technological breakthroughs often stem not from rigid processes, but from a chance conversation or a moment of relaxation.

As a global leading full-stack AIoT platform company, ESPRESSIF drives the widespread adoption of low-power IoT devices through high-performance RISC-V SoCs and edge AI capabilities. However, even the most advanced technology relies on human creativity and collaboration efficiency. How to create an office environment for these engineers—whose mission is to "connect the future with chips"—that inspires inspiration while supporting frequent collaboration has become a key challenge for the company's continuous innovation.

NOVAH, applying a "space as a system" design philosophy, has crafted a modern workspace deeply aligned with ESPRESSIF's technological DNA. This space not only fulfills functional needs but is also designed to foster knowledge exchange, enable implicit connections, and support individual well-being—an "innovation ecosystem" in its truest sense.

Tertiary Collaboration System: Embedding Communication Naturally into Daily Workflow

The traditional binary structure of "workstations + meeting rooms" fails to keep pace with the parallel, high-frequency collaboration rhythm of multiple teams at ESPRESSIF, often leading to communication delays and information silos. To address this, NOVAH established a three-tiered spatial system that seamlessly integrates collaborative behaviors into employees' daily movement patterns, facilitating interaction from open engagement to deep collaboration.

Located at the entrance, the open reception area serves as the first social node, transforming the conventional front desk's single function. By incorporating modular furniture arrangements, it enables flexible adaptation for various uses: Bloom Single units support impromptu work sessions and private calls; modular sofa groups accommodate informal gatherings and relaxed conversations; while the open staircase acts as a "social magnet" that encourages chance encounters across teams. With visual transparency and spatial openness, this design fosters spontaneous interactions. It breaks down the procedural barrier of "discussions only by appointment," enabling more agile information flow and more efficient knowledge integration.

FourAll

A Physical Catalyst for Informal Collaboration

The lounge collaboration zones set up on office floors serve as key spaces for the cross-departmental exchange of tacit knowledge. By integrating a tea and coffee bar with comfortable lounge furniture, these areas create a low-pressure, highly interactive social environment where technical inspiration can naturally spark through casual encounters.

Within this space, the FourAll lounge stools act as the central element—increasing spatial utilization density while encouraging employees to pause briefly and exchange ideas quickly. This "stand-up socializing" model effectively promotes horizontal information flow, keeping employees mentally engaged even in a relaxed setting.

Focused Moments

Dedicated Spaces for High-Density Communication

Beyond open collaboration, technical reviews requiring high confidentiality and deep concentration still depend on private settings. Acoustically isolated meeting rooms with transparent glass maintain visual openness while effectively blocking external noise, creating "acoustic buffer zones" for efficient communication. These spaces meet the needs of sensitive discussions and intensive collaboration, ensuring focus and privacy without sacrificing connectivity.

The three-tiered spatial system—open connection, informal exchange, and deep collaboration—progresses sequentially, forming a complete collaboration support chain that transforms communication from chance encounters into co-creation.

Healthy and Focused Work: Prioritizing Employee Well-being

Intensive R&D work places high demands on employees' physical and mental well-being. Prolonged sitting and forward head posture, if left unaddressed, can directly impair creativity and work consistency.

To address this, NOVAH has equipped every workstation with the Seda ergonomic chair, designed for each innovator. Its unique Soft-Joint passive forward lumbar support dynamically conforms to the natural curve of the spine with every movement, significantly reducing lower back fatigue. The chair’s multi-dimensional adjustability ensures personalized support for employees of all body types. This reflects not only systematic care for individual health, but also a solid investment in the company’s long-term innovative capacity. When the workspace truly serves the people within it, innovation can thrive sustainably.

Espressif Systems connects the physical and digital worlds through AIoT, while NOVAH connects people and organizations through spatial design. This collaboration represents a harmonious resonance between innovative spirit and design craftsmanship. We believe the office of the future should be more than just a place "where work happens"—it should serve as an invisible infrastructure that actively supports the execution of corporate strategy.

NOVAH is committed to using systemic design to create a truly human-centered work ecosystem—one that evolves seamlessly with its users. Going forward, we will continue to deepen our expertise in spaces for technology and R&D-driven enterprises, empowering more pioneering companies on their path to innovation.
