We deployed digitalized furniture and systems into the new office of Shanghai Tobacco Machinery Co., Ltd., making the space more intelligent. Here, the intelligent storage and workstation system brings great convenience to employees’ self-service use and administrative department management, promoting the transformation of corporate office space.
Shanghai Tobacco Machinery Co., Ltd. is a core enterprise in the domestic manufacturing of tobacco machinery equipment, located in Pudong, Shanghai. As a company with a century-old history, Shanghai Tobacco Machinery possesses world-class CNC processing equipment and precision instruments, has established a scientific research and development base, and its products have won numerous national, provincial and ministerial-level, as well as tobacco industry science and technology progress awards, high-quality product honors.
In the office, the traditional way of storage consumes more labor and material resources, management efficiency is low, office space needs to be upgraded.

In order to help people communicate and collaborate better, the FourFold table is used in this training room. This table is foldable and mobile, and it only takes 1-2 minutes to rearrange into a new layout.
Fabricks are indoor bricks made from acoustic foam and wool fabric, and it can be flexibly combined to create multiple layout forms within limited spaces, encouraging active interaction.
The era of Office 3.0 is gradually evolving, with future office spaces placing greater emphasis on flexibility, openness, and sharing. How can we achieve spatial transformation towards this goal? And how can we balance the openness and shareability of space with employees’ sense of belonging?
In this project, while retaining private and exclusive under-desk cabinets, we use the intelligent storage cabinet Morph Locker to provide a solution for enterprises, making office space more flexible.
In the entire office, Morph Locker smart lockers are scattered throughout: employees can reserve them for use by scanning the QR code on the locker with their mobile phones. Whether in the work area or the leisure area, employees can find a locker nearby to use; external visitors can also scan the code to store personal items and have a good visiting experience.
The Morph Locker smart cabinets configured here are relatively low, avoiding obstructing the line of sight; they are scattered throughout and also serve as ‘dividers’ between departments and different areas.
Intelligence not only promotes spatial transformation, but also facilitates the upgrading of organizational management.
In the past, while the administrative department was responsible for managing personnel and property within the company, many problems often arose. They were unable to know the staff situation in real-time or manage employees’ personal workstations and storage lockers directly and effectively. This situation undoubtedly exists in many enterprises: an employee has left the company, but their personal items stored in the cabinet have not been properly disposed of…
In this project, intelligentization has helped administrative personnel achieve real-time dynamic management of people and objects. Through the intelligent background management system of Morph Locker, administrators can understand data such as usage rate, users, and cabinet status of storage cabinets, which are managed in a unified background; Moreover, system administrators can grant management permissions to other personnel through authorization, flexibly applicable to internal work allocation within the administrative department.
In addition, workstations in this office need to be reserved by employees for use. Through intelligent means and the visualization of employees’ office behavior through background data, effective management of people and objects can be achieved.
In this office, the Cube, Chalet, and Four Us leisure sofas jointly create a colorful and comfortable space for relaxation and collaboration.
In particular, Chalet showcases its high modularity in matching and diverse combinations here. The Chalet sofa is paired with the Campers conference table and Cube stools, creating an enclosed ‘comfort zone’ for employees to rest and discuss. Configured with the Chalet bar table and matched with the FourDesign series bar chairs, the functionality of this area is further expanded, enhancing space utilization and also forming a classic configuration for collaborative discussions.
The independent Cube sofa and coffee table support DIY changes to the product shape, meeting temporary waiting and resting needs. The soft combination of gray and green and the soft-pack material can effectively relax tense emotions and enhance the waiting experience.
The unique top-side protruding structure of the Four Us sofa perfectly forms a barrier at the conversationalist's head, enhancing privacy and facilitating focused thoughts. The unique irregular-shaped tabletop supports flexible movement; when users enter or leave, it can be easily pushed without effort, allowing free entry and exit.
The Legend conference table of various specifications meets the needs of different specification spaces. In large conference rooms, the spacious and atmospheric Legend conference table is in line with the aura of large conferences, and the dual-row power track fully meets the power needs of meeting attendees.
